“2012 Worldwide Members’ Witnessing Competition in Commemoration of the 18th Anniversary of Cheongpyeong Works”

With Foundation Day less than one year away, Heung Jin Nim, the supreme commander in the spirit world, and Dae Mo Nim said that “All members throughout the world should strive to fulfill the duties of loyalty and filial piety, by fully devoting their utmost efforts”.

In accordance with this direction, the Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center, as it did last year, will hold once again this year the "Worldwide Members' Witnessing Competition in Commemoration of the 18th Anniversary of Cheongpyeong Works,” as described below. Appropriate prizes will be awarded, so that all the churches and blessed families throughout the world can offer reports to God concerning their best accomplishments in witnessing. We sincerely hope that all members can receive abundant grace through their active participation in this competition.

This witnessing competition will also be held in conjunction with Korean Headquarters, Japanese Headquarters and Unification Church World Mission Headquarters. We sincerely hope for and encourage your active announcement and participation.

Please note that this official memo is intended for those members living outside of Korea and Japan.

1. Title: “2012 Worldwide Members' Witnessing Competition in Commemoration of the 18th Anniversary of Cheongpyeong Works”

2. Witnessing Period: January 1, 2012 ~ December 20, 2012

3. Eligible Participants: All members and churches throughout the world

4. Standard for the Selection of Winners and the Awarding of Prizes: Awards will be presented to those members who witnessed and brought in the most members, or whose churches witnessed and brought in the most members, and these award-winners will be selected based on the Korean Headquarters' official memo of January 10, 2009 (“the standard of members listed on the church register”) or the standard set for witnessing in each country’s headquarters.

1) The Standard of Korean Headquarters (Refer to the content of the official memo):

a) Submission of membership form (a membership fee of 12,000 won must be paid)

b) Participation in a 2-night and 3-day workshop

c) It is recommended that the individual attend Sunday service at least twice each month.

d) It is recommended that the individual offer a donation at least once each month.

2) The Standard of the Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center:

a) A newly-witnessed member (newly-joined member) should be one who has accomplished the ancestor liberation ceremony (more than 1-7 generations on Father’s side).

      - A newly-witnessed member can liberate his or her ancestors by sending the application form and the donation to Cheongpyeong.

     b) Members who successfully witnessed to more than 12 people, in accordance with the standard above. However, the criterion of the ancestor liberation should have been accomplished by more than 50% of the new members (i.e. at least 6 people out of 12 should have fulfilled the ancestor liberation.).

3) Each continental headquarters will select, from among those who have taken part in the competition, the winning individuals, and churches, and must submit their list to the Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center no later than December 29, 2012. After all lists have been submitted, the Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center will make the final decision concerning the candidates.

a) Each continent should select no more than 3 churches and then submit their list to the Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center.

b) The Standard for the selection of churches may be decided upon in accordance with the witnessing policy of that continental headquarters.

5. Criteria for awarding prizes

1) Awards will be given separately, for individuals and for churches, and will include a plaque as well as prize money.

2)  Awards for churches will be presented by nation (Korea, Japan) and by continent.

3) Individual awards will be presented to all those members who meet the witnessing standards outlined above.

6. Date and place of the awarding of prizes: Prizes will be awarded at the Cheongpyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center during the Special Great Works in commemoration of the 18th Anniversary of Cheongpyeong Works (around January, 2013).
